Habitat Cluster in the kick-off meeting of DEGREN project – Ecodesign Center

On June 20, in Coimbra (Portugal) took place the formal start of the project INTERREG 0149_DEGREN_4_E (Design & Green ENgineering). INTROMAC (Instituto Tecnológico de Rochas Ornamentais e Materiais de Construção, Cáceres - Spain) is the DEGREN project leader. The project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), through the Cross-border Cooperation Program INTERREG V-A Spain-Portugal (POCTEP).

The main objective is the creation of a cross-border Ecodesign Center in the EUROACE region (Extremadura-Alentejo-Centro). This Center aims to create and promote the development of ideas, research and projects in Ecodesign, as well as to promote innovation in different strategic sectors of the EUROACE region and allow new business models based on Ecodesign and Circular Economy.

The partnership is composed by 9 entities: INTROMAC, University of Extremadura, CTCV, Polytechnic of Leiria, Sustainable Habitat Cluster, DiEX - Asociación de Diseñadores de Extremadura, COIIEX – Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros Industriales de Extremadura, ANJE and Foundation FUNDECYT Scientific and Technological Park of Extremadura.
