Kick-Off Meeting of the CircularBuild Project!

On the 17th of February the CircularBuild Project Kick-Off Event took place, a project supported by the EEA Grants program and which has the Sustainable Habitat Cluster as one of its partners!

 

This event, which took place via videoconference, had 125 participants and, as speakers, the promoter of the project CONCEXEC - Arquitetura, Lda. and its partners LNEC - National Laboratory of Civil Engineering, RISE Fire Research and the Sustainable Habitat Cluster. The event also counted with the presence of Drª. Susana Escária on behalf of the General Secretariat for the Environment and Energy Transition.
 

 

 

The opening of the event was conducted by Prof. Victor Ferreira, president of the Sustainable Habitat Cluster, and by Architect Jaime Silva of CONCEXEC - Arquitetura, Lda., after which a framework of the EEA Grants Program and the Environmental Fund was presented by Drª. Susana Escária, responsible for the EEA Grants Environment program at the General Secretariat for the Environment and Energy Transition.

The second part of the event, in charge of the promoter and partners, started with the “Presentation of the CircularBuild Project and Principles of Circularity”, by Architect Jaime Silva of CONCEXEC - Arquitetura, Lda., followed by an intervention on the “Principles of Circularity in the Validation of the Project's Constructive Solution” by Engº Armando Pinto from LNEC (National Civil Engineering Laboratory) and ended with a presentation on "Fire Safety in Prefabricated Modular Construction" by Erik Jacobsen of the Norwegian institute RISE Fire Research.

The event ended after an extended debate, moderated by Prof. Victor Ferreira, based on the various questions raised during the event by the participants in a very active way.
