The Sustainable Habitat Cluster and its members are celebrating the National Cork Oak Tree and Cork Day today!
The Cork Oak is a species of great historical symbolism and high environmental, social and economic value for Portugal.
Did you know that in 2011, the Assembly of the Republic consecrated it as the “National Tree of Portugal”?
In the different areas of activity of the members of the Sustainable Habitat Cluster, we can find those who, knowing the important functions of the cork oak in biodiversity, soil conservation and carbon storage, take advantage of cork as a renewable raw material in various uses in our Habitat, from insulation to coatings.
